Camp Hill Primary School offers children the opportunity to explore and develop their understandings, views and beliefs on the “big questions” of life in consideration of religious and worldly views that are at the heart of the schemes of work in Coventry and Warwickshire’s locally agreed RE syllabus.

It is in accordance with this agreed curriculum and syllabus of work that pupils are ensured to gain an ambitious and aspirational curriculum of knowledge and understanding of the main six religions and world views in a safe and caring environment that promotes children’s understanding of a diverse world.

Children will build on prior knowledge and receive challenges to their preconceptions into the big questions of our RE curriculum. Our RE curriculum will allow them to gain rich and creative experiences through first hand experiences and being able express and share their own opinions. Children will gain an understanding of the six main religions and also recognise that many people hold non-religious views.

At Camp Hill we believe that RE lessons will ultimately support our children to become compassionate and thoughtful members of our community and society through their education to make informed choices and voice their own views and beliefs with equal consideration of other people’s beliefs, views and faith.
